What is Januvia (Sitagliptin)?

“Januvia has been successful in clinical trials at helping to
lower glucose in people with type 2 diabetes when standard
methods, such as diet, exercise, and first-line medications,
aren’t enough. Januvia has shown good results in trials, both
in combination with other drugs, such as metformin, as well
as by itself. It is only prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes.”

The US Food and Drug Administration has approved Januvia for the treatment for type-2 diabetes. It is said to work for lowering the blood glucose levels as it blocks an enzyme known as a dipeptidyl peptidase.

Januvia is only meant for the treatment of type-2 diabetes and should be consumed only after a doctor’s consultation.

You must first consult the doctor before consuming Januvia while pregnant as it is unknown to the effects it may cause.

If you come across any side effects like upper respiratory infection, sore throat, and headache you must consult a physician immediately.

You must have a check-up with a doctor of your renal function before taking Januvia, as it is processed through the kidneys.

If you start experiencing sudden joint pain, you must contact the doctor and take the necessary medications.
